Paris Hilton is "desperate" for a role in Twilight sequel New Moon.

The socialite and hotel heiress - who was recently reported to have a crush on the film's star, Robert Pattinson - has reportedly begged her manager to land her a part in the popular vampire franchise.

A source tells Britain's Star magazine, "She has also had her manager call the casting agent to lobby for a part on her behalf.

"She is desperate for people to take her seriously as an actress and thinks she'd be perfect to play one of the vampires. She's even willing to play a victim - she just wants in."

Hilton, 28, is also said to be calling Pattinson - who plays Edward Cullen in the film - "constantly" since meeting him at the Oscars.
