A documentary about US socialite Paris Hilton has had its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.

Director Adria Petty followed the 27-year-old star for a year to make Paris, Not France.

It shows Hilton at work on red carpets, in her business dealings, talking about her image, and relaxing at home.

Petty said: "As soon as I met her, I knew within a minute that she was a cool chick, a smart girl, and hard-working."

Prejudices

She added that Hilton "certainly wasn't lounging on a chaise eating cherries".

"I didn't really go in with too many prejudices against her, but just like everyone else I wondered what she was all about," Petty said.

Hilton posed for photographs and signed autographs before attending the screening at the festival.

Petty said Hilton had "created a mystery about herself that a film like this maybe wouldn't have been a great thing for her in the past".

"But now, she's been so saturated in the media. We're so used to her. To see a new side of her is so exciting," she added. 

Paris Hilton has denied rumours that she’s already pregnant with boyfriend Benji Madden’s child or that they’re even trying for a baby.

Paris was rumoured to be hoping to start a family with the Good Charlotte star as soon as possible - for both personal and professional reasons - after friend Nicole Richie and Benji’s brother Joel Madden welcomed daughter Harlow in January. She then fuelled the rumours by wearing a series of maternity-style smock tops.

However, she’s now said that she’s putting off motherhood for a while yet: “I would love to one day, but for right now it wouldn’t be right to have a kid because I don’t have the time.

“You know right now I’m just focusing on my business. My schedule is so crazy, I am going to London next month for a couple of weeks to do my BFF show in London, so I have a lot of work cut out for me.”

Hope you're all having a wonderful summer. This is actually the first summer where I didn't just lounge around in St. Tropez or a private beach somewhere--I didn't take a vacation this summer because it's been non- stop work.

I've been shooting the show, editing it, traveling to Europe to promote my handbag line and fragrance, designing my fall collection for my shoes and clothing line, and working in my studio on a new album. So professionally its been a very successful and productive summer. My favorite part of the summer has been the time I've gotten to spend on tour with my love Benj :) We always have the best time together and he's played some shows in some pretty rad places: Orlando for example, so we got to go to Disney World, which is always a blast! He's such an amazing boyfriend and so talented too...I love watching him perform on stage, so hot! :) Loves it!

Life couldn't be better; I have a great boyfriend and a new best friend. I'm so excited to announce that I've wrapped taping of "Paris Hilton's My New BFF." I've been LOVING every moment in the editing room, and am sitting there literally in tears, every day, laughing so hard at all the priceless moments from the footage. Also I'm thinking that a lot of the crazier scenes might just end up on the DVD....there is so much footage and even though some will be edited out as all shows must do, I want you to be able to see it and laugh as much as I have been! ;)

When I was little I loved playing with dolls. Now that I'm grown up, this show concept has given me my own real live dollhouse by having the BFF contestants. Imagine all the trouble and fun I could cause all at once just with a text on my blackberry, from me to them...I'm sure you and your friends do a lot of my communicating by text--it's crazy to imagine how important that has become. I will admit...I love texting :) So it was naturally part of taping the show with the BFF contestants...I can't wait for you to see how we used the messages throughout the show.

These kids are gonna blow your minds and touch your hearts with what they go through and reveal. They were sweet and fun and a little crazy! Ha...I can't wait for you all to see the drama of having these girls and guys living under my roof. It was definitely an experience I will cherish forever and never forget. I made friends that I will have for a lifetime.

Wednesday, we all got together at a hotel in LA and shot the casting special that you will all get to see in the next few weeks on MTV. I really wanted you guys to be introduced to these kids and see some sneak peeks from the show. It was so much fun to see everyone again. We had a great time. I took lots of pictures, so I'll post them soon. And because I had so much fun doing this one, I decided I need to find my new British BFF...Everyone knows I love LA. But London, watch out – I'm coming to town and bringing my fast-paced life with me. I'm in the UK all the time, but of course I can't bring all my friends, so I've decided to look for a new BFF across the pond. I need a best friend who is hot, who can keep up with me, and most of all, who is real and won't be a backstabber. I'm not leaving London until I find that amazing girl or guy who can meet the challenges of being my British bestie!I am so excited! London is one of my favorite cities in the world. Attorney Michael Goldberg has filed suit against Paris Hilton and her entertainment company, seeking millions of dollars in alleged lost profit related to a promotions contract for a 2006 film she starred in, National Lampoon’s Pledge This!

Goldberg, of Akerman Senterfitt’s Fort Lauderdale office, filed the federal suit as part of his duties in the receivership of the defunct Worldwide Entertainment Group, a former Miami Beach concert promoter accused in 2006 of bilking investors out of $300 million.

One of Worldwide’s subsidiaries, the Entertainment Group Fund, hired Hilton to promote the film for $1 million. Goldberg is now alleging that she didn't honor that contract.

In an interview Goldberg said he doesn't normally comment on litigation, but some national press accounts mistakenly reported Wednesday that he is only seeking $75,000 in the lawsuit. The complaint states the amount in controversy exceeds $75,000.

"We are seeking our lost profits, which we believe to be in the millions of dollars," Goldberg said."Reports that we were only seeking $75,000 are inaccurate."

Hilton played a sorority president seeking to boost her image at South Beach University.

“Hilton failed to attend any talk shows or telephonic or in-person interviews,” Goldberg alleges in the suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Miami.

He is pursuing the global assets of former Worldwide Entertainment mogul Jack Utsick, of Miami Beach, two years after the Securities and Exchange Commission sued him for securities fraud. The SEC said in 2006 the entire company could be a Ponzi scheme.

Worldwide Entertainment and its affiliates still have ownership interest in stadiums and concert venues worldwide.

Utsick's attorney, David Chase of Fort Lauderdale, and his client have declined public comment on the case.

A call to Hilton’s attorney was not immediately returned.
