Paris Hilton "saved" the life of a fan by giving him $5,000.
The hotel heiress sent the cash to muscular dystrophy sufferer Mike Oliveri, who struggles to afford his healthcare bills, after they struck up a bond when they met at a Los Angeles nightclub earlier this month.
Following the gesture, Mike posted a video on his personal website thanking the 'Simple Life' star for "saving" his life.
In the clip, he says: "I met her about a week-and-a-half ago ... I just thought she was a very sweet person ... We became friends and ... she just sent me $5,000 and saved my life, literally.
"Paris, the magnitude of appreciation I have for what you did, you didn't have to do that. Just our friendship alone is worth more than you could ever imagine."
Mike goes on to describe the heiress as an "angel" and admits his is grateful to be able to discuss his problems with the 31-year-old star.
He continued: "Having somebody to talk to everyday, and somebody that understands, and somebody that cares, I really appreciate what you did and I hope the whole world understands what an amazing person you are.
"Words cannot express how I feel. I just want to say, Paris, I love you, thank you so much."
Earlier today a new song and accompanying music video for ‘Drunk Text‘ featuring Paris Hilton leaked onto the Internet, leading fans and media to think this was her much anticipated new single. However, Paris has taken to her official blog saying this isn’t the case. She sets the record straight writing:
Hey guys, I’m getting a lot of tweets about this song that just leaked. No, this is not my new single. It’s just a demo I did for fun with friends a while ago. My new single will be out in the next few months with Afrojack and a very special suprise guest. Can’t wait for you all to hear it, such a fun club song! Love you guys!

"I have a huge passion for house music. It always has been my passion. I just haven't been able to focus on it, because I have been doing reality TV for so long now," contactmusic.com quoted Hilton as saying.
"I've been working on the album with lots of other top DJs for a while now and I think people will be really surprised. It's very modern and very catchy perfect party music," she added.

Court papers filed in Miami indicate a settlement was reached last week. No terms were announced and final documents must be filed by November 11. Paris’s spokeswoman and an attorney for the movie’s investors had no immediate comment.
The investors originally sued the 29-year-old actress and celebrity socialite for 8.3 million dollars. But after a trial, a federal judge ruled they could not collect that much. Earlier this year, the judge said Paris could be liable for about 160,000 dollars.
Paris insisted in trial testimony that she did all she could to promote Pledge This!
The sorority romp was a box-office flop.
The hotel heiress spent Wednesday shopping with her boyfriend, Cy Waits, for gifts, pumpkins and candy, then headed straight to the Rescue Mission Shelter in LA to give it all away.
“Just got home,” she tweeted. “Had a great day today. Cy and I went to the pumpkin patch to buy a bunch of pumpkins. Also some tools to carve and paint them and lots of candy and toys.”
“Brought everything down to the children at The Rescue Mission Shelter. They were all so excited and grateful. It’s such an amazing feeling to make a child smile and be happy.”
